Gift cards for Lightspeed
Wrapped connects to all three Lightspeed product families (Retail, Restaurant and eCommerce) and holds one gift card balance across them. Sell a card at the retail till and your guest can spend it in the restaurant or in your online store. Lightspeed's own gift cards don't cross those product lines.
Lightspeed keeps gift card balances separate in each product: Retail, Restaurant and eCommerce each have their own. Wrapped holds one balance that every connected Lightspeed product reads and writes to in real time, along with Shopify, Square, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Heartland or Bopple if you run those too. You also get experience vouchers, store credit and refund-to-credit, Apple and Google Wallet, and a clear view of what you owe and where. From $49/month with a 14-day free trial.

Why Lightspeed businesses run gift cards on Wrapped
Lightspeed is three product families, not one, and gift cards behave differently in each. That's no problem on a single product at a single site. It turns into a daily one as soon as you run more than one: a golf club with Retail in the pro shop and Restaurant in the clubhouse, a winery with a cellar door and a dining room, a group with venues on different series.
Your guest holds one card and expects it to work everywhere on the property. Wrapped keeps a single balance across every till you run, so it does. Non-Lightspeed channels work the same way: Lightspeed in store and Shopify online behave as one program rather than two. The full head-to-head is in Wrapped vs Lightspeed gift cards.
The other reason merchants come to us has nothing to do with how many systems they run. Lightspeed gift cards are a dollar balance. If you want to sell a dated experience voucher a guest can scan at the door, put refunds back on credit instead of a card, drop a pass into Apple or Google Wallet, schedule a gift for a birthday, or take a corporate order for two hundred cards, you need more than a balance and that's true whether you run one Lightspeed product or five.

Lightspeed gift cards: frequently asked questions
- Does Lightspeed have gift cards built in?
- Yes, but it behaves differently in each product line. Lightspeed Retail, Lightspeed Restaurant and Lightspeed eCommerce each handle gift cards their own way, and balances generally don't cross between them. One Lightspeed product at one site, selling plain cash-value cards, and the built-in option will do. Two things break it: running more than one Lightspeed product or a non-Lightspeed channel alongside it, and wanting anything a dollar balance can't do: experience vouchers, refund-to-credit, Apple and Google Wallet, a branded gifting storefront, corporate gifting.
- Can one gift card work across Lightspeed Retail and Lightspeed Restaurant?
- Not natively. They're separate products with separate gift card behaviour. It's the most common reason multi-outlet Lightspeed businesses add Wrapped: one balance across both, so a card sold at the retail till gets redeemed in the restaurant and the remainder is correct in both places. Golf clubs, hotels and hospitality groups run into this constantly.
- Which Lightspeed series does Wrapped support?
- Wrapped integrates with Lightspeed Retail (X-Series and R-Series), Lightspeed Restaurant (O-Series, K-Series and L-Series), and Lightspeed eCommerce (Ecwid and C-Series). Walkthrough videos for each series are on the demo videos page.
- How long does the Lightspeed integration take to set up?
- Most merchants are live the same day. You authorise the connection from your Wrapped account in a few clicks, no developer work, then brand your gift card assets, import any existing gift cards so outstanding balances keep working, and optionally order physical cards.
- Can I import our existing Lightspeed gift cards?
- Yes. Existing gift cards (codes, remaining balances and expiry dates) can be imported so your customers’ outstanding cards keep working. Self-managed migration import is included on every plan; premium onboarding ($300 one-time) adds managed migration and setup assistance.
- Does Wrapped work if we run Lightspeed alongside Shopify or Square?
- Yes, and it's the common case. Wrapped works across whichever systems you run, so Lightspeed Retail in store, Shopify online and Square at a pop-up all share one gift card balance. Alpha60 runs Lightspeed with Shopify and Klaviyo this way; Au Bon Marché runs Lightspeed with WooCommerce.
